Roar Physiotherapy is proud to be presenting a new STRENGTH and CONDITIONING class for the South Fremantle Football Club’s Future’s training group.
All classes are guided by a Physiotherapist and are able to be claimed under private health insurance*!
*Not all insurances are the same and the ability and amount claimed will vary based on your individual level of coverage
Curriculum Plan
Block 1 (Nov-Dec 2022): Lower body fundamentals
Barbell, goblet, and Bulgarian split squat patterns for building quadricep + gluteal strength and hypertrophy
Deadlift patterns, including Romanian Deadlifts, hip-hinge variants, arabesques for building hamstring and gluteal strength
Block 2 (Jan 2023): Upper body fundamentals
Barbell bench press
Overhead press
Military pullups, bent-over rows
Biceps, triceps, shoulder hypertrophy
Block 3 (Feb-March 2023): Lower body performance
Utilising fundamentals to build performance
Plan is to start individualising players’ programs based on their pre-season testing and parameters that need work
Blocks 4 and 5 currently being planned

Some things to know before signing up:
These workshops are run by Roar Physiotherapy, which is independent to South Fremantle Football Club. South Fremantle does not fund nor require participation in these workshops as any sort of pre-requisite.
Participation in these workshops does not grant you immunity from team cuts. If a participant is cut from the development squad they are still welcome and encouraged to continue attendance at the workshops
Classes are non-refundable
For those wishing to utilise their private health insurance, rebates cannot be refunded in bulk. For example, if you purchase 10 classes and wish to claim 10 group class rebates on private health, the rebate can only be claimed either on or after the day of each class. Speak to our reception team if you have any questions regarding this.

These workshops are run by Hayden Quinn - Futures Physiotherapist and accredited ASCA S&C coach

These classes will take place at Roar Active, 23 Port Kembla Drive Bibra Lake (7-minute drive from Meller Park). Classes will run weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays (timetable above).

1. In response to high rate of preventable soft-tissue injuries during 2022/2023 Futures season
2. Equip players with the foundations of weights training and S&C
3. Enhance + build on athletic capabilities of incoming SFFC talent

The main goals of the sessions include:
Teaching fundamentals of gym-based strength & conditioning training for AFL performance and rehabilitation
How to perform common lifts utilised for AFL S&C safely and effectively
Preparation for more advanced S&C utilised in Colts and beyond
Reduce the incidence of soft-tissue injuries during the Futures training + playing season

5 classes = $159
10 classes = $290
15 classes = $409
Private health insurance rebates are available to those who have eligible cover. These may cover up between 30-70% of the cost each class depending on your insurer.
